This week we journeyed North to Kitgum, Uganda which is near the South Sudanese boarder. Here we are partnering with a local church, Christian Community Church, and YWAM Kitgum to reach the South Sudanese refugees. We were able to visit a refugee
camp near the border, and meet/greet a group of Christians. We were informed upon leaving that the Christians/Pastor in the camp are not actually educated on the Bible nor know how to teach it; we are returning next week to give a teaching on the depth of the Bible, and inform about grief & trauma, mental health, abuse, and the spiritual impact of parenthood.
Being in Kitgum, we have also had the opportunity to preach on the radio (reaching over 1.5 million listeners in parts of Uganda, Kenya, Kongo, and South Sudan), preach in hospitals, preach in prisons, and preach the gospel in the city.
It has been challenging, but a great learning experience!
