Our first week in Uganda, my team and I prepared for the 33rd Celebration of YWAM Uganda. The conference consisted of all 6 YWAM bases in Uganda coming together to YWAM Jinja for a festive celebration of God’s faithfulness over the years. My team was in charge over planning an all-day program for the youth and children of the adults attending the conference.
In the mornings we had small groups, bible studies, and dance and worship with the kids. After lunch, they broke up into smaller groups based on age; we ran different themed groups: crafts, sports, dance, mural painting, writing, drama, and puppets. My classmate, Rahel, and I contributed to the conference by photographing all the different activates. After the conference ends, we will help YWAM Jinja clean up the base, and then on Monday our team will be splitting up; half of the team will be going to Arua, and the other half of the team will be going to Kitgum in Uganda. As of right now, our leaders are still praying about which location should each team should go to!
