Crazy ways how God Speaks

When I arrived to Perth in October, I felt the Lord asking me to walk with Him, and funny how God is because...I do not enjoy walking...I would rather run (hence why I have been training for a marathon!) But during my run with one of my school leader's wife, Rachel, she was expressing how God had told her to start running. I was jealous that God would tell her to run and not me when I obviously LOVE running.

On today's particular run (about 18k), I was rather exhausted and tempted to take a short break at a water fountain. I thought to myself, If God wants me to walk then, I'll walk, I bet that would please him.

After Rachel and I parted ways about 2k away from finishing the run. As Rachel ran up a ramp that led to a bridge, I continued on the path going on the underpass; just as we parted ways, an older woman in her 60s ran past me and said, "Great morning for a run, aye?" And I concurred with her then she passed me. Once I had run under the bridge, the woman turned around and came to run next to me. She said, "So...I am much older than you, and I am running faster than you...you should be faster than me." I told her, "Oh, I am running 18k and I am almost done, I am just pretty tired." She then told me that she was running a 10k and was almost done as well so she decided she would run with me. We ran maybe over a kilometer together just talking about where I was from, what I was ding there, etc. She took me on one of her routes which did NOT go by the water fountain that I had wanted to stop at. As we parted ways, I yelled after her and asked what her name was, she responded, Clair!"

As I continued to finish up the last kilometer (exhausted), I felt so weirded out...as if she had been an angel or something; like God sent her to push me to keep running. I felt God say in that moment, "Corrie, I love that you love running, and I don't want you to stop! I am proud of you and how you put yourself!"

God is so loving and thoughtful; He is so passionate about the things that we are passionate about!
